Introduction into the world of physics. Various demonstrations and histories of physics. No work was need for today.
August 22, 2013
Continued our introduction to the world of physics. Assigned seating, discussed disclosures and class fee. If you missed class, you can download the disclosure from the above file. Began an introduction to speed. Started a lab using dominoes. If you missed class, you will need to download the disclosure. You will be able to catch up on the lab next class period
August 26, 2013
We took a quiz from the last periods notes. This did not count but was meant to familiarize you with how the quizzes will be given. Finished up and turned in the lab on speed using domino's. If you missed this lab, you will need to type a one page paper on speed. Be sure to include a separate page that lists your bibliography,

We introduced the Physics Classroom web site and how we will begin to use it this year. It is located at the following site http://www.physicsclassroom.com/ Once you are on the page, look at the options on the left side of the page and click on the Physics Tutorial. These are the pages I will have you reading at home in preparation for class work. Today we did 1-D, Lesson 1 a,b, and c in class. You will need to read and take notes on parts d and e for a quiz in class on Friday. We also took notes on distance and displacement and completed a worksheet. "Describing Motion Verbally with Distance and Displacement". If you missed class, the worksheet can be downloaded from the following site: http://www.physicsclassroom.com/curriculum/1DKin/1DKin1.pdf
August 30, 2013
Today we took a reading quiz on the material assigned on Aug 28th. We also corrected the assignment that was assigned on Aug 28th and turned this in for credit. We discussed String theory today and watched 40 minutes of a video. If you missed class today, you will need to get a copy of the notes from someone in class as this information will be on our first test.

I gave out progress reports so you could see if you were missing any work. You should be looking at skyward and making sure you are up to date on all assignments, quizzes and labs. we also reviewed for the test which will be given on Thursday. You cannot use phones during the test so you really should bring a calculator. We reviewed in class and completed a review worksheet. If you missed class, you need to visit me to get this review sheet. You will be allowed to use any notes you have taken on the test, but no assignments.

Test on Acceleration and Kinematics
October 8, 2013
Today we went over the test. Students were allowed to make up some of the points they may have missed by checking out a physics book from the library and completing 2 problems at the end of chapter 2 for every question they missed on the test. This allowed a make up of 1/2 of the points missed on the test.
October 10, 2013
Mr. Morrill was gone today. We watched the 2nd episode of "The Elegant Universe", String Theory. Notes were taken and turned in for credit.
October 14, 2013
Class discussion on Projectile Motion. Notes were taken in class and turned in for credit. If you missed class, you will need to take notes in class next time and show them to Mr. Morrill for credit.
October 16, 2013
As a result of the short class periods due to testing today, today you were allowed to work on any missing work and turn it in.
October 22, 2013
Mr. Morrill must be in a district science meeting. Today we watched the 3rd episode of the Elegant Universe. Notes were taken and turned in for extra Credit.
